The Aguilar Tone Hammer preamplifier/Direct box is a must-have Preamp for your bass. It comes with the essential controls to get the tone you want. An amazing EQ, gain boost, and the OBP3 pre amp, featuring a sweepable midrange, bass and treble controls. The Tone Hammer Preamp/DI uses Aguilar Adaptive Gain Shaping circuitry (AGS). AGS allows the player to kick in an additional gain structure and EQ with the "stomp" of a button. You can now go from modern slap sounds to vintage or overdriven. The 18-volt operation gives the Tone Hammer® plenty of headroom to reproduce the most dynamic playing style. Separate Gain and Master controls allow you to dial in just the right gain structure for any instrument. Adaptive Gain Shaping circuitry (AGS)Like its name subjects the AGS, Adaptive Gain Shaping Circuitry shapes your gain giving you more gain and a little bit of saturation. You can boost you gain by 6db, 10db, and up to 16db. The sound you get is a nice pretty cool with plenty of head room to play, very tubby and warm.
